The COVID pandemic took a considerable toll on students, families, teachers, staff, administration, and the public education system at large. One of the few benefits of “the lockdown” was that it changed educators’ mindset on how to effectively and creatively use technology once we were all back in the classroom. I use technology daily to enhance my students’ learning by broadening the delivery of content, encouraging student engagement, providing evidence capture and assessment, and exploring new avenues for creative endeavors. The CDE Visual Art Standard: Invent and Discover to Create incorporates the use of technology for ideation and art medium, starting at the 6th grade level expectations.
Using Chromebooks for reference images/information during brainstorming/rough draft stage of a project.
Periodic evidence uploads to Schoology during creation process to assess and guide students in next steps.
